PFFNH
The Mission Statement for the PFFNH

The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire is a fraternal organization dedicated to providing services and representation to fire fighters, emergency medical services personnel, fire and emergency medical service dispatchers, and retirees. The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire shall provide to the International Association of Fire Fighters Locals, their membership and retirees, multifaceted services that encompass safety and health compensation, benefits and political action.

The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire shall be the preeminent organization that shall take the leadership role in promoting the profession within organized labor and the community. The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire shall be the voice of public safety employees in legislative and regulatory matters in regards to the promotion and the protection of all interests of fire fighters.

The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire is a state association chartered by the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO-CLC. We are comprised of 42 local unions of the IAFF, all across the Granite State, representing firefighters and paramedics from small towns and large cities.

There is no commission, committee, or oversight board dealing with any aspect of a firefighter or paramedic's job that the PFFNH does not represent. The PFFNH strives for lifetime services for its members, whether they are rookies at the fire academy or retirees enjoying their hard-earned and well-deserved pensions. The PFFNH is the preeminent organization that has the leadership role in promoting professional firefighters, paramedics, fire and EMS dispatchers, and their retirees within organized labor, the state legislature, and the community. The PFFNH is the voice of public safety employees in legislative and regulatory matters.

Throughout the years, the PFFNH has come to be recognized as one of the most effective and respected voices in our state. Most of the benefits and protections presently enjoyed by fire fighters under state law or rule have been acquired as a direct result of, or have been influenced by, the PFFNH.

The PFFNH also has comprehensive political action that starts with our locals being fully involved in their communities. This leads to a much-coveted endorsement for our friends in politics from all parties who will stand with us on our issues and know that they are receiving a real endorsement with an engaged membership willing to work tirelessly on their behalf.

Additionally, the PFFNH and its locals are involved in a variety of philanthropic ventures, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Burn Foundation, a wide variety of local programs, and the Fallen Fire Fighters Family Fund. The Fallen Fire Fighters Family Fund, or 4F Fund as it has been affectionately termed, is a registered 501(c)3 charity by the state of New Hampshire and the Internal Revenue Service. The fund was established in 2002 to provide assistance to families who have had a member make the ultimate sacrifice, with expenses paid immediately after the tragedy, and to see their loved one be honored at the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Colorado Springs.

Delegates from the 42 Local Unions meet bi-monthly at different locations within the state, and the PFFNH holds a biennial convention and legislative conference in alternating years.
