  • 2016 State Primary Recommendations
    Updated On: Sep 01, 2016

The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire have endorsed the following candidates in the New Hampshire state primary for Tuesday, September 13, 2016:

    Mark Connolly for Governor (D)

PFFNH President Dave Lang has said the following about Mark: “As Governor, Mark Connolly will challenge the status quo. We saw this first hand as he led the Bureau of Securities Regulation. While there are good and talented candidates in this field, Mark Connolly stands head and shoulders above them in passion, drive and approach to the problems facing New Hampshire’s working families. New Hampshire needs this type of leadership and commitment; our members - firefighters and paramedics - are on the front lines and seeing the needs of our state. We look forward to helping Mark secure the nomination and believe he has the skills necessary as Governor to continue fighting the heroin crisis we are facing, strengthening our economy and protecting the people of the Granite State, a place we call home.

Mark is the strongest candidate with union values who will protect public employee pensions, ensure our right to collectively bargain, and make sure firefighters and paramedics receive the training they need to address emergencies in New Hampshire communities. View Mark's campaign ad below:

Andru Volinsky for Executive Council, District 2 (D)

PFFNH President Dave Lang has said the following about Andru: “Andru will be a strong voice for fire fighters and paramedics in our state. We're proud to endorse Andru and believe he will bring to the Executive Council passion and vision. As an Executive Councilor he will be an asset to our state and will be a strong supporter of public safety."

Andru has represented firefighters, paramedics and thousands of other public employees as counsel to the New Hampshire Retirement Security Coalition, which President Lang chairs. Andru will continue to protect public employees' pensions on the Executive Council.

Joshua Bourdon for Executive Council, District 3 (D)

PFFNH President Dave Lang has said the following about Joshua: “Joshua has been a strong and significant voice for firefighters and paramedics in our state. As a Town Councilor, Joshua has been a relentless supporter of public safety and the working families of Derry. We are, therefore, proud to endorse Joshua to be the next Executive Councilor from District 3. As an Executive Councilor, Joshua’s understanding of public safety standards will keep New Hampshire a safe and secure place to raise a family."

In addition, Ron Sebastian, President of Derry's Local 4392 said the following: “In Derry, we have seen Josh fight for a safer town and for all of Derry to have a say in its public safety. We are confident that Josh will bring his experience and leadership, and his fresh, invigorating ideas to Concord. We know he will do the same for all New Hampshire families as he has done and continues to do in Derry."

We as a union encourage you to support these candidates on September 13th. They stand out as the best individuals to carry out our values and put firefighter families first once elected.
