Legislative Update Week of January 24th
2010 Legislative Session
Good Report From ED&A Subcommittee
This week the House ED&A committee’s subcommittee on retirement met regarding all retirement legislation. Most importantly they will report to the full committee a report of ITL on HB 1530 relative to earnable compensation of members of the New Hampshire Retirement System. Hopefully this will be the last we hear of this legislation this year! The subcommittee also reported out HB1576 relative to certain retirement system beneficiaries receiving a retirement allowance while in active service (which will be sent to interim study) and HB1682 relative to the methodology for determining retirement system contribution rate (ITL). Many thanks go to Local 856 member and State Representative Dan Sullivan for his leadership on the subcommittee.
Upcoming legislative action this week:
Tuesday February 2nd
HB 1131, relative to the requirements of fire fighter certification subcommittee work session
HB 1135, requiring the fire standards and training commission to perform self-reviews of its membership executive session
Thursday February 4th
